So double %% in scripts, and single % on the interactive command line. Read more here.Įxample: ffmpeg -i inputFile.mp4 -r 1 outputFile_%02d.pngĮxample: ffmpeg -i inputFile.mp4 -r 1 outputFile %%02d.png This also works for input files that are image sequence. if the command would create more than 10,000 frames change the %04d to %05d. If you put it before the input it would treat the input file as if it had the specified frame rate.Ĭhange the %xd to however many digits you need, e.g. Note that the -r 0.25 option goes after the -i input.mov part, because it's controlling the frame rate of the output. So to put it all together, this is how it would look to save one frame of input.mov every four seconds to output_0000.png, output_0001.png etc.: ffmpeg -i input.mov -r 0.25 output_%04d.png 1 frame per second would be -r 1, one frame every four seconds would be -r 0.25, one frame every ten seconds would be -r 0.1 and so on. The trick is to simply change the frame rate of the output to whatever we want using the -r n option where n is the number of frames per second. Ok so now we know how to export the movie as a sequence of images, but say we don't want to export every single frame? You can use lots of still image formats, png, jpeg, tga, whatever (see ffmpeg -formats for a full list). The %0xd bit is converted to a zero-padded integer x digits long - the example I gave gets output as To export as an image sequence just use myimage_%04d.png or similar as the output. It's very simple with ffmpeg, and it can output one frame every N seconds without extra scripting. 1/30/2024 0 Comments Donovan edwards![]() On offense, the Bulldogs have a new offensive coordinator in Mike Bobo and will be starting a new quarterback, most likely Brock Vandagriff, the former five-star recruit. It looks like a win-win-win.Ī junior colleague, however, proposes strategy 2: deploy all the excess cash into a lower-multiple business. That’s awfully tempting: strategy 1 generates value, produces a higher multiple, and enables buybacks. Executing on strategy 1 would expand your company’s EV/NOPAT multiple of core operations (that is, the multiple, adjusted for cash holdings, observed today by investors) to 16.4. Therefore, the stock buyback has no impact on the value of the core business, and the fair value of the growth businesses reflects all future growth opportunities. 1 We assume, for purposes of this example, that all assets and companies are fairly valued. ![]() Your team is excited about strategy 1, which involves an investment of $100 million to grow a new, high-multiple business, which requires less capital, leaving $200 million to buy back shares. You are faced with the choices in Exhibit 1. You understand that the company should invest for growth a board member suggests more share repurchases in order to “stabilize the price.” For purposes of this example, the company also has $300 million of excess cash, and $9 million of posttax earnings, which leads to an observed market multiple of 16.5. The current core business generates net operating profit after taxes (NOPAT) of $100 million the EV-to-NOPAT multiple is therefore 15. Imagine you are the CEO of a company with an enterprise value (EV), excluding excess cash, of $1.5 billion. The ‘higher multiple’ trapĪ higher multiple is a head turner. In particular, there are three instances when an overreliance on multiples can contribute to poor strategic decisions in capital allocation: (1) prioritizing multiples when investments at a lower multiple could generate more value (2) ignoring the interplay between multiples, returns on capital, and cost of capital when allocating capital to a noncore business and (3) extrapolating from a start-up’s results when determining a conglomerate’s potential for value creation. Sometimes companies miss this essential point. Multiples are the result of good outcomes, but they are not the primary objective. 1/29/2024 0 Comments Monopoly for mac dropbox![]() These real-world elements can often elevate a simple game monopoly into the clash of personalities and provide all players with an incredible amount of fun.Įven though this game features only one screen, with a dynamic 3D camera that can point to various elements of the board, the install size of the game is surprisingly over 200 MB, which was a lot for a game from several decades ago. Mating occurs year-round although peaking during the rainy season. Browsing on leaves, shoots, fruit and other vegetation - up to 40kgs a day Reproduction Strict herbivore Giraffe are ruminants and have a four chambered stomach. Males also develop calcium deposits on their head, which assist them during fights. Horns are present on the tops of their heads known as ossicones, which are covered in a black tuft of hair. Unique blotchy patterned coat, which does not extend past the lower leg. Tallest land animal on earth, with a distinct long neck, lined with a short mane and a long, strong and dexterous tongue, around 45cm long. Despite their large size Giraffe can reach speeds of over 40km/h Description If threatened Giraffe can give powerful blows using their legs to kick. Acute eyesight allows them to spot predators from a distance. Non-territorial living in home ranges which depend on food and water availability. In 2016, some scientists released a study that claims genetic differences among giraffe populations indicate the existence of four distinct giraffe species.Savannah, grassland and open woodland Natural behavior Up until recently, the consensus has been there is only one species of giraffe with multiple subspecies. Similarly, living in a group allows giraffes to more effectively find food and mate. ![]() While no two individuals have exactly the same pattern, giraffes from the same area appear similar. Giraffes are preyed upon by lions, leopards, and hyenas, so being part of a group can help to deter predators. These infants can stand in half an hour and run with their mothers an incredible ten hours after birth. Their young endure a rather rude welcome into the world by falling more than 5 feet to the ground at birth. Kangaroo Island ants play dead to avoid predators. Giraffes only need to drink once every several days they get most of their water from the luscious plants they eat.įemale giraffes give birth standing up. The giraffe then touched the hand it wanted to eat from, using only the information it had from the containers. To do so they must spread their legs and bend down in an awkward position that makes them vulnerable to predators like Africa's big cats. The giraffe's stature can be a disadvantage as well-it is difficult and dangerous for a giraffe to drink at a water hole. ![]() The giraffe's height also helps it to keep a sharp lookout for predators across the wide expanse of the African savanna. A giraffe eats hundreds of pounds of leaves each week and must travel miles to find enough food. Giraffes eat most of the time and, like cows, regurgitate food and chew it as cud. Even the giraffe's tongue is long! The 21-inch tongue helps them pluck tasty morsels from branches. Giraffes use their height to good advantage and browse on leaves and buds in treetops that few other animals can reach (acacias are a favorite). Such contests aren't usually dangerous and end when one animal submits and walks away. Typically, these fascinating animals roam the open grasslands in small groups of about half a dozen.īulls sometimes battle one another by butting their long necks and heads. These long legs allow giraffes to run as fast as 35 miles an hour over short distances and cruise comfortably at 10 miles an hour over longer distances. A giraffe's legs alone are taller than many humans-about 6 feet. Giraffes are the world's tallest mammals, thanks to their towering legs and long necks. He was learning how to play during the recording! I had absolutely no idea the song would become so big. The whole band were leaning on his drumming, especially poor Bob on bass, who was a non-musician friend they had dragged in. ![]() I couldn’t understand his thick Scottish accent so the others had to translate. They were easy to record, as Paul Thomson is a fantastic drummer. I cleaned up all the instruments and made them very tight with the drums to give the song that mechanical feel. We used Pro Tools editing to fix mistakes. Very few musicians can play well to a click track, and natural tempo changes in a song can be great. We recorded as live as possible, without a click track to keep us in tempo. It was nice to be home but it had also been hard to find a similar studio in the UK for the same money. We recorded at Gula Studion in my home town, Malmö in Sweden, which had a great 1970s console and a big sounding room. I wanted to give listeners the loudness of a live gig. ![]() The main thing I added was an aggressive sound. I’d been much more creative when I produced the Cardigans. I think that got me the job of producing them, but I didn’t have to change much. Before working with them, I saw the band live and told them I liked the Talking Heads vibe some songs had and suggested we explore that. Otherwise, Take Me Out was great on the demo and already had the marvellous intro in a different tempo. It was a good hook but I thought it sounded like a bagpipe melody. I don’t remember hating Take Me Out! But I certainly didn’t like the famous guitar riff. Photograph: Tabatha Fireman/Redferns Tore Johansson, producer When we recorded it, Tore Johansson, the producer, hated it and kept asking: “Why are we recording this? The other songs are so much better.”įranz Ferdinand at the Mercury Music awards in 2014. When you come up with a song like that, the dreamer in you is thinking: “One day, we’ll play this in Mexico City.” But the realist thinks, “We’ll press up 500 copies and sell 35”, which is what had happened with all the other bands I’d been in. The first time we played the whole song in the rehearsal room, I joked: “This would sound really good on the radio.” But I was thinking of a session on John Peel or something – if we were lucky. We thought it would be funny to spoof the sounds you got on Queen records or the beginning of Eye of the Tiger. The short staccato bursts of sound – where you hit a cymbal and hold it to stop it resonating – came about because Bob Hardy, our bass-player, had read an article about “sports rock”, the music played at sports games in the US. ![]() The tempo of the chorus was much slower than the verse, so I suggested playing all the verses at the beginning, but slower, then the choruses. The “I know I won’t be leaving here with you” section formed a bridge between the verse and chorus, but when we rehearsed it with the band, it didn’t sound right. |
